The Pouncerstone site explores several topics of special interest for informational and enjoyment purposes. Our main categories of topics are as follows:

• Feline Kidney Disease - Both Pouncer and Taffy dealt with chronic kidney disease. Pouncer had a kidney biopsy in 1996 that indicated he may be bordering on end-stage renal failure. He became asymptomatic within 1 1/2 years of this biopsy and his treatment plan for kidney disease went from needing subcutaneous fluids and medication daily to only taking one pill every other day. His bloodwork values were within the normal range from 1997 through the end of his life in fall of 2002. We did not lose Pouncer to kidney disease, but to a rare type of lung cancer for which there was no known treatment. We let Miss Taffy go at the age of 21 since her failing vision was impacting her ability to get around the house safely. Her kidney disease was well-managed up through the end of her life on earth. Although both Pouncer and Taffy are gone, this web site has been continued to motivate and inspire pet owners to educate themselves and fight disease on behalf of their cats. We share our experiences, perspectives on managing the disease and provide some helpful information and resources on kidney disease.
